Take a fresh look at the music of Broadway shows! Students will delve into vintage Broadways tunes that ended up becoming American Jazz. Showcase will feature performances of vintage songs like Smoke gets In Your Eyes from Roberta (1933), I've Got A Crush on You from Strike Up the Band (1927), My Funny Valentine from Babes In Arms (1937), etc... The class will follow the journey of jazz from the stage to the big band, and how we would perform these two different styles!
