FALL 20120 Class Info Sheet. CYT offers three 10-week sessions each school year (fall, winter & spring) with a variety of theater arts and specialty classes for kids ages 4-18. Fall Class registration is currently underway. Winter Class registration will begin November 1.
The cost for a 10-week session for 2010-2011 is currently
$190 per student. A $15 sibling discount is offered (second child $175, third child $160, fourth child $145, etc.)
FALL CYT CLASSES will meet 3 different nights in Richmond and begin the week of SEPTEMBER 7th.
- Mondays (5:15-7:30pm) at KingsWay Community Church on the southside of Richmond (9 weeks due to Labor Day; each class is 2hrs, 15 min)
- Tuesdays 2 SESSIONS (4:30-6:30pm & 6:45-8:45pm) at Gayton Baptist Church in the far west end of Richmond (10 weeks, each class is 2hrs)
- Thursdays 2 SESSIONS (4:30-6:30pm & 6:45-8:45pm) at Gayton Baptist Church in the far west end of Richmond(10 weeks, each class is 2hrs)
REGISTRATION FOR FALL CYT CLASSES BEGINS JULY 1st.
A wide variety of classes are offered (core classes in drama, voice, and dance, plus specialty classes which vary from session to session). CYT Richmond offers small classes (usually 12-14 students) with adequate supervision both inside the classroom (teacher) and outside the classroom (CYT area coordinator). Each class lasts for two-hours and runs for 10 consecutive weeks (20 total hrs. of instruction.) During the 10th class week, a high-energy "SHOWCASE" is presented by each class for the other students as well as family and friends. Every CYT student participates in the showcase. Students enrolled in classes are then eligible to audition for the current main-stage production.
Classes are a great way for students to gain valuable theater arts training, develop confidence and make life-long friends!This winter session, CYT Richmond is expanding to a new area, CYT Southside! We are currently in the planning stages of bringing a season of shows south of the river with the goal to provide more opportunities for kids onstage, to reach new families and to ease the drive for many of our southside families. Students will be able to take classes at any location and then choose the show that they want to audition for. We can't do this alone!
